Why Chocolate Should Be a Food Group

Chocolate isn’t just a sweet treat it’s a mood booster, stress reliever, and sometimes even a form of comfort during tough times. Whether it’s a rich dark chocolate bar or a creamy milk chocolate dessert, this delicious delight has a special place in many people’s hearts (and stomachs). It’s hard to imagine life without chocolate, which makes a strong case for it becoming its own food group.

Besides tasting amazing, chocolate also contains antioxidants and other compounds that can benefit our health in moderation. So, indulging in a little chocolate now and then isn’t just fun it might actually be good for us. If that’s true, maybe it’s time to rewrite the food pyramid to include chocolate at the top!
